List Of Episodes For Lord Peter Wimsey
Lord Peter Death Bredon Wimsey is a fictional character in a series of detective novels and short stories by Dorothy L Sayers. A British aristocrat and amateur sleuth, Lord Peter solves mysteries; murder mysteries more often than not. However, being very much a dilettante, he involves himself with these mysteries for his own amusement. Nevertheless, Lord Peter is really an archetype for the British gentleman detective.
Several Lord Peter Wimsey novels were made into television productions by the BBC in two separate series.

Ian Carmichael played Lord Peter Wimsey in a series of separate serials that ran between 5 April 1972 and 13 August 1975. This series adapted five novels: Clouds Of Witness, The Unpleasantness At The Bellona Club, Five Red Herrings, Murder Must Advertise and The Nine Tailors. The adaptations were broadcast in twenty one episodes over five serials.
Edward Petherbridge played Lord Peter Wimsey in 1987. This series dramatized three of the four major Lord Peter Wimsey/Harriet Vane novels: Strong Poison, Have His Carcase and Gaudy Night. Harriet Vane was played by Harriet Walter. The BBC was however unable to secure the rights to turn Busman's Honeymoon into a proposed fourth and last part of the planned thirteen-episode series, so the series was produced as ten episodes instead. The three adaptations were transmitted under the title A Dorothy L Sayers Mystery, and aired between 25 March 1987 to 27 May 1987.
Both the Ian Carmichael and Edward Petherbridge productions are available on videotape and DVD.
